Some health insurance companies provide coverage or offer wellness discounts for memberships to gyms, including Curves. For example, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota considers Curves a covered gym. The benefits section of the health insurance policy describes health and wellness coverage for each policy.
Blue365 is an optional program offering discounts to massage therapists, nutrition counselors and over 9,000 gyms, including Curves. There is a monthly fee of $25 and a minimum enrollment period of three months. Other insurance companies, such as Aetna, may require a doctor's note or letter of medical necessity for a gym membership to be covered.
