What insurance companies pay for a tubal reversal?
By Forinfos - 16/03/2026 - 0 comments
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of tubal reversal surgery, according to WebMD. Tubal reversal is an expensive procedure that often costs thousands of dollars, as of 2016.
Because tubal reversal surgery, which reconstructs the fallopian tubes to allow pregnancy to occur, is not a medically necessary procedure, insurance typically does not pay for it. The patient must usually pay all of the costs herself, including the cost of the surgery, anesthesia, hospital fees and pre-surgery fertility tests, states WebMD.
The procedure can cost more than $10,000, according to Cigna. U.S. government and military health insurance programs also deny coverage for the procedure.
