CNO Financial Group began operating in 1979 and is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange, listed under the symbol CNO. Its headquarters are in Carmel, Indiana.

In addition to being the parent company of Bankers Life, CNO is also the parent company of Colonial Penn Life Insurance Company, Washington National Insurance Company and 40|86 Advisors, Inc.
