Intestinal roundworms are thin and long with a yellowish-white appearance, explains WebMD. These parasites affect the intestines but can also affect the muscles, causing symptoms such as stomach pain, anal itching, fever, face swelling, blood loss and blood in the stool.

Pork tapeworms have a purplish hue and a thin body with a larger head, according to WebMD. These intestinal worms affect people who eat undercooked or raw pork or come into contact with the feces of an infected individual. Pork tapeworms can cause seizures and headaches, affecting primarily the brain and intestines. Some patients do not require treatment for tapeworms, but medical care is necessary when symptoms are severe.
