Dr. Paul N. Andrecola invented Dawn dishwashing liquid for Procter and Gamble in 1973. The world-famous colloidal chemist was only 26 when he originated the iconic blue dish soap. He went on to establish Inventek Colloidal Cleaners, Inc., contributing to the company's green solutions as chief scientist.
Dawn dish soap is famously used to clean wildlife after oil spill disasters. Procter and Gamble has partnerships with The Marine Mammal Center (TMMC) and International Bird Rescue (IBR), who focus on wildlife conservation, ocean health and education. Dr. Andrecola's invention, through Procter and Gamble's continued donations, has helped cleaned tens of thousands of affected animals and their habitats.
