Who invented soccer?

Ancient Chinese individuals invented the game that most closely resembles the modern-day sport of soccer. Records of the original game, called "Tsu-Chu," date back to the 3rd century B.C.
The game was designed as a training exercise for Chinese soldiers, who kicked a ball into a net that was suspended from poles. The height of the net was 30 feet from the ground, much taller than the 8-foot-high nets used in modern professional soccer. The game evolved throughout Europe for several centuries, and it was introduced into British public schools in the 16th century, when players were allowed to use their hands and wrestle for the ball.
