When was soccer invented?

Soccer, or football as many people call it, is believed to have been invented in ancient times, around 4,500 BC. There has been many different soccer like balls found throughout the world in countries like China, Egypt and Italy.

The games basic idea survived for many years and was played throughout England during medieval times. There have been various balls found in Egyptian tombs dating back to 2,500 B.C. that appear to have been made from animal skins and intestines. Many believe that the sport really took hold in the mid-14th century in England, which was originally called mob football.
