Where is Islam located?

Islam is a religion that is found all around the world, but it is primarily found in the Middle East and North Africa. It originated in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Founded in 622 A.D., a trade merchant from Arabia named Muhammad founded the religion of Islam. The house of worship for Islam is the mosque and members of this religion study the Quran.

Islam has grown to become the second-largest religion in the world. There are approximately 1.3 billion who identify as belonging to this religion. Major sects of this religion include Sunni and Shiite, which includes Twelvers and Seveners. Sufi serves as a mystical branch for Islam.
