What is a Japanese fire God?

Japanese mythology features two deities of fire: Kagu-tsuchi and Kojin. Both are gods, though Kojin is occasionally depicted as a goddess in literature and popular culture.

"Kami" is the name for spirits and deities that are worshipped in the Shinto religion; thus, Kagu-tsuchi is the kami of fire. According to Japanese mythology, his birth occurred at the end of creation and signaled the beginning of death. In contrast, Kojin is also the god of the kitchen and is occasionally called "Kamado-gami," which translates to "god of the stove." He represents violent or otherwise evil forces which are instead used for the good of mankind.
