What are some jobs for 10 year olds that pay?

The range of jobs available to 10-year-olds is quite limited, but includes yard work, running a lemonade stand, walking dogs, pet or house sitting, delivering newspapers and washing cars. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) says that 14 is the minimum age at which children can work a non-agricultural job.

One exception to the FLSA is if the child's parents own a family business. The child is then permitted to work for their parents under parental supervision, as long as the business is not in the mining, manufacturing or other hard labor industries. Additionally, children are allowed to get jobs as performers on the radio, in motion pictures or in theatrical and television productions.
