Jupiter has an atmosphere that is made up of mainly hydrogen and helium gases, with thick clouds and high winds. Jupiter's hydrogen and helium gases are the same type of gases found on the sun.
Jupiter is covered with large masses of clouds that vary in color from white to red and yellow. The enormous red spot on Jupiter is actually a gigantic storm, which is approximately 3 1/2 times the size of Earth at it's widest point. Winds on Jupiter are fierce, blowing over 400 miles per hour at times. The three rings around Jupiter mainly consist of tiny particles of dust. Jupiter rotates faster than Earth. A full day on Jupiter is only 10 hours long.
