The Southern Hemisphere has more water than the Northern Hemisphere. The Southern Hemisphere is home to the Indian Ocean, the South Atlantic Ocean and the South Pacific Ocean, as well as various seas.
The Southern Hemisphere is where the Tasman Sea and the Weddell Sea are found. These seas make up more than 80 percent of the Southern Hemisphere. By comparison, the Northern Hemisphere is made up of mostly land. Most of the continent of Australia, the southern third of Africa and the entire continent of Antarctica make up the land regions of the Southern Hemisphere. The land comprises only 19.1 percent of the Southern Hemisphere.
