Are Keurig coffee makers BPA free?

According the manufacturer, Vue and K-Cup packs are free from bisphenol A, or BPA, and so are all the parts of Keurig home coffee brewers that come in contact with water or grinds during the process of making coffee, as of 2015. Other brewer parts may contain BPA.
However, products containing BPA that are currently on the market are safe to use as of November 2014, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. And while BPA-containing plastic packaging raises health concerns, mainly because of the estrogenic nature of the compound, a neurobiologist at the University of Texas, George D. Bittner, believes that other estrogenic chemicals in plastic can be just as dangerous as BPA.
