What is the Keystone Oil Pipeline?
By Forinfos - 25/08/2025 - 0 comments
The Keystone Oil Pipeline is large oil pipeline proposed by the Keystone XL Project in 2008. It would expand an existing pipeline from Alberta's tar sands to the U.S. Midwest, according to The Guardian.
The Keystone XL Project aims to almost double the amount of crude oil transported into American refineries in Texas's Gulf Coast. The pipeline would extend approximately 1,660 miles, beginning in Hardisty, Alberta, and go all the way south to Port Arthur, Texas. Originally opposed by environmentalists at 350.org and other environmentalist groups, the Keystone XL Pipeline is still surrounded by political and scientific controversy, according to The Guardian.
