What kills mold besides bleach?

A borax and water solution or undiluted distilled vinegar can be used to kill mold. Borax should be mixed with water in a 1 cup to 1 gallon ratio.
The borax solution is sprayed on the mold and scrubbed until the mold can be cleaned up with a rag or a vacuum with a HEPA filter. Borax acts as a disinfectant and is a natural mold deterrent. Distilled vinegar is sprayed directly on the mold and left for an hour to allow the vinegar to work. Borax and vinegar can also be combined by adding 1 cup of vinegar to the borax and water solution.
