What kind of creams are good for keloid removal?

There are many over-the-counter creams that claim to treat keloids, such as Mederma. However, physicians usually agree that these creams, while they may improve the scar a bit, are not a good choice when one wants to permanently remove a keloid, states the American Academy of Family Physicians.
HealthTap states that physicians most often recommend steroid injections, laser treatments, silicone sheets, and occasionally excision as the best methods to remove keloids. When choosing a cream for keloid removal, ensure that it contains one or more of the following ingredients: aloe vera gel, onion extract and vitamin E, says Health and Living Magazine.
