What kind of suspension does a dirt car have?
By Forinfos - 22/06/2025 - 0 comments
The most common suspension type for off-road vehicles is a solid-axle leaf-spring system used on both axles. Some more advanced designs may use coil-over springs and an independent front suspension in combination with either leaf or coil-over springs for the rear wheels.
One of the reasons for the popularity of solid axles in off-road applications is their durability, as the single axle is usually stronger than a more complex independent suspension. Drivers prefer leaf springs for similar reasons, as they have fewer breakable moving parts than coil-over springs. However, independent front suspensions using coil-over springs can provide superior maneuverability over uneven terrain.
