Moisturizer, vegetable oil, makeup remover wipes and vinegar are products that can remove adhesives from plastic, notes Cleanipedia. Test the product on an out of the way spot before applying it to the adhesive.

Use moisturizer or vegetable oil for lightly stuck-on adhesive. For tougher stains or rush jobs, use makeup remover wipes, and for adhesive that is hard to remove, use vinegar.

Apply a heavy coat of the product selected to the adhesive patch. Work the product into the surface of the adhesive by gently rubbing in a circular motion. Rub from the outer edge inward, being careful not to smear the adhesive into a larger sticky spot.
