The King James translation of the Bible dates to the early 1600s and contains some antiquated language which may make it difficult for contemporary readers. However, whether something is easy to read is a subjective question that depends on the reading and comprehension skill of an individual reader.
Due to high illiteracy rates in the 1600s, the King James translation was originally written to be read out loud. This difference in intended audience can magnify some of the antiquated language of the translation.
The King James translation is the second-oldest complete English translation of the Bible. It comes after the Douai Version, which first appeared in 1582.
