Why do my knees make noise when I bend them?
By Forinfos - 28/07/2025 - 0 comments
Cracking and popping sounds made by the knees when they are bent are not symptoms of an underlying issue. A person should not worry, especially when the condition is not associated with pain and swelling.
Many people tend to perceive that the sounds indicate presence of arthritis, which is wrong, as stated by Healthline. The sounds are made as a result of the accumulation of gas in the joint forming bubbles. When bending the knee, some of these bubbles burst. At times, the ligaments around the joint may snap and make the sounds. If the sounds at the knee come with pain and swelling, a person could be suffering from cartilage injury or meniscus tears.
