How often does a Krups coffee maker need to be cleaned?

Krups recommends coffee makers using soft water be cleaned or descaled after approximately 80 uses. If the water is hard, then the recommendation is after 40 uses.

General cleaning of the outside of Krups coffee maker is done with a soft cloth and without the aid of abrasive cleaners. For difficult-to-remove stains on the outside, use a cloth dampened with vinegar.

When descaling the inside of a coffee maker, Krups recommends filling the carafe with cold water, adding one or two spoons of white vinegar and running without a filter in the machine. Repeat this process two more times without vinegar to complete the descaling process.
