The landforms of the Taiga Plains include broad lowlands and gently rolling plains, as well as large river valleys. The Taiga Plains are located in the sub-arctic zone of the Northwest Territories province of Canada.
The ecozone of the Taiga Plains contains Great Slave Lake and Great Bear Lake, which were originally carved by glaciers. The plains also include many smaller lakes. The rivers in the region have steep banks and shores that have been ravaged by ice. Glaciers have also affected the ridges and hills of the region. Large wetlands are dominant in the lower areas of the Taiga Plains, but they have shallow, nutrient-poor soil which is often frozen.
