What are large flagstone pavers used for?

Although most flagstone pavers are small in scale, large flagstone pavers are also used to create unique patios and for paths and walkways in place of solid concrete or smaller flagstone. Large flagstone pavers are more level and stable than a larger number of smaller stones fitted together and are especially beneficial in creating a safe walking surface.

Oversized flagstone set in gravel creates a smooth and stable walking path with the added interest of gravel in between the large stone pieces. Long, narrow flagstone used for a pathway makes an interesting visual statement while utilizing different shapes and sizes of stone that may otherwise not be used.
