One fact about largemouth bass is that the female is larger than the male. The male can grow up to 1 1/3 feet long, while the female largemouth bass can grow to nearly 2 feet long. The fish weighs about 2 pounds on average but can be much heavier.
The largemouth bass is a freshwater fish and can be found from southern Canada down through the eastern United States and down into northern Mexico. It can also be found from the Atlantic coast to the Midwest. It prefers water that's fairly shallow and full of vegetation. This gives the fish protection from predators and allows them to see their prey without being seen.
