Who was the last czar of Russia?

The last czar of Russia was Nicholas II of the Romanov family. He inherited the throne in 1894 when his father died and ruled until he abdicated in 1917.

Nicholas II is known for his poor handling of a peaceful demonstration of Russian workers in St. Petersburg in 1905. His troops shot and killed over a thousand of the demonstrators, and the day became known as "Bloody Sunday." The public also blamed him for Russia's heavy losses in World War I, which led to poverty and inflation. In 1917, large scale riots forced him to abdicate the throne, and a provisional government was created. When the Bolsheviks took over the country under Vladimir Lenin, they murdered Nicholas II and his family.
