How late can telemarketers call?
By Forinfos - 05/09/2025 - 0 comments
According to the Federal Trade Commission, telemarketers are allowed to make calls as late as 9 p.m. Calls from telemarketers are allowed to begin as early as 8 a.m.
Further rules governing telemarketer behavior were established in 2003 with the implementation of a "do not call" registry. Consumers may keep most telemarketers from calling them by placing their phone number in the registry. There are several exemptions to the do not call rules, such as when the consumer registers with a company, makes inquires with a company, or when the caller is a political organization. Those telemarketers who violate the rules of the registry face fines of up to $16,000 per call.
