A lawn disease is a fungal disease that often occurs during hot and humid conditions. Common lawn diseases are the dollar spot and the brown patch.
The dollar spot lawn disease gets its name from the silver dollar-sized dead patches in the lawn that it causes. Excessive moisture in grass caused from the spring and fall weather or overwatering brings on this disease. Brown patch often occurs in fescue and ryegrass, and it is prevalent when nighttime temperatures consistently stay over 68 Fahrenheit. Brown patch often appears as a dried-out ring around the edge of the lawn, while the middle of the lawn appears healthier, although still damaged.
