What is a lawn fertilizer chart?

A lawn fertilizer chart is a chart that indicates what fertilizers to use in a yard and when to use them. This chart also indicates the exact amount of each type of fertilizer to be used under specific conditions.
Ideally, a pound of nitrogen is recommended for every 1,000 square feet of lawn that is being fertilized. Since fertilizers range between 10 and 30 percent nitrogen, the application rate varies. A lawn fertilizer chart helps you determine how much fertilizer you need based upon its formula and composition. Some charts provide detailed calculations and ratios of how much product is required based on soil composition, climate and lawn seed type.
