More study is necessary to establish lecithin as a successful independent regimen.
Lecithin can reduce fat accumulation in the liver of patients fed long term through parenteral nutrition, according to WebMD. Remedies for high cholesterol levels that are supported by research include statins. Evidence does not support the use of lecithin for many of its marketed purposes, including increasing athletic performance and treating dermatitis.
