What is the legal age to move out in Michigan?

According to Michigan's Age of Majority Act of 1971, 18 years of age is when a person is considered an adult and no longer under the supervision or control of his parents. The Michigan Status of Minors and Child Support Act 293 of 1968 defines minors as anyone under 18.

For criminal cases, minors of age 17 are considered adults and are prosecuted in a circuit or district court. Minors between the ages of 16 and 18 can file for emancipation to remove themselves from parental control. The emancipation terminates all rights of custody, services and earnings pertaining to the emancipated minor.
