Is it legal to view movies on Movie2k?

As of 2015, the pirate website Movie2k is offline. The site shut down in May of 2013. The Motion Picture Association of America brought a case against Movie2k and won since the site had access to copyrighted material without permission including movies and TV shows.

After winning the case against Movie2k, the Motion Picture Association of America had the site's IP address blocked by various Internet service providers.

Downloading any part of a movie counts as a form of copying copyrighted material and is illegal. Consumers watching illegal movies on a website risk having their service terminated by their Internet providers.
