According to USA Volleyball, the national governing body for competitive volleyball in the United States, an indoor adult competition volleyball court is 59 feet long by 29.5 feet wide. Under National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) standards, an indoor volleyball court is 60 feet long by 30 feet wide. Some high school and youth volleyball leagues adhere to the adult competition standards.
Beach volleyball became an official Olympic sport in 1996. As a result, the sport continues to grow in popularity at both the college and high school levels. Under USA Volleyball standards, beach volleyball courts are 52.5 feet by 26.25 feet wide.
