Is the lesser trochanter prone to stress-related injuries?

The lesser trochanter isn't especially prone to stress-related injuries. A fracture of this area itself is uncommon. If the lesser trochanter suffers an injury, it's usually because of an injury to the muscle to which it's attached or an injury to the femur.
The femur is the long bone found in the thigh. One reason that the lesser trochanter is protected from direct injury is that it's a small bone found on the inside of the femur and is protected by the muscles in the thigh. It's also protected by the pelvis and the head and neck of the femur, which includes the greater trochanter.
