What letters make up the musical alphabet?

The musical alphabet is made up of seven letters: A, B, C, D, E, F and G, although not necessarily in that order. These letters can be combined in many different ways to make music.
The letters of the musical alphabet each have a spot on the staff, which are the lines and spaces on which music is written. The letters are arranged in two common ways. The first is the treble clef, in which the letter E sits on the first line. The second is the bass clef, in which the letter G occupies the first line of the staff.
