What is the life cycle of wrens?

The average life cycle of a wren involves nesting, laying eggs, and incubating and hatching the chicks. Wrens can live for up to nine years.

The breeding season runs from March to July. Male wrens stake out a place to build a nest, and both sexes build the nest in a hollow cavity in which to lay and incubate the eggs.

The female wren lays two to eight eggs each brood and often broods twice per season. Once the eggs are laid, the female incubates them for 12 to19 days. Once the baby birds have hatched, they are fed by both parents and take around 15 to 18 days to become fully fledged and able to leave the nest.
