Where was the light bulb invented?

The first light bulbs and its predecessors were invented in England. John Wilson Swan created the first light that can be considered a light bulb in 1850.
Swan's light consisted of paper filaments in vacuum bulb. Before Swan, the earliest predecessor of the light bulb was Humphry Davy's electric light in 1802. However, the first person to enclose a light in a vacuum was Warren de la Rue in 1840. Because it was made with platinum, it was not a cost-effective way of producing light. Although Thomas Edison is often considered the inventor of the light bulb, Edison was actually the first person to make it commercially viable.
