Where is Lincoln buried?

Abraham Lincoln is buried in Springfield, Ill., in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. Also buried there are his wife, Mary, and three of his sons, Edward, William, and Thomas.

The remains are buried in this 117-foot tall tomb designed by sculptor, Larkin Meade. The tomb is made of brick covered by Quincy granite. Lincoln's wife requested that, when she died, they all be buried in this cemetery together. Because this beloved president resides here, Oak Ridge Cemetery is the second most-visited cemetery in the United States. Since the tomb wasn't finished at the time of his death, the remains of Lincoln and his sons were stored in temporary vaults for several years.
