Does Lipozene work?

Glucomannan, the active ingredient in Lipozene, is a sugar made from the root of the konjac plant. According to WebMD, as of 2014, there is insufficient evidence to support the use of glucomannan in weight loss, but it may be effective in controlling blood sugar in Type 2 diabetes.

According to the manufacturer, the only ingredient in Lipozene is glucomannan. When ingested, glucomannan absorbs water in the stomach and intestine and forms a bulky fiber, which can slow absorption of sugar and cholesterol from the gut and promote gut mobility, according to WebMD.

WebMD warns that glucomannan taken in foods or in a capsule is safe but taking it as a solid tablet may cause throat or intestinal blockages.
