Tesla operates Supercharger stations, which can be found through its website or through the Tesla Model S touchscreen via Google Maps. Tesla's touchscreen inside the car can also assist in locating the nearest public charging station. Public charging stations typically take longer to charge the batter than Supercharger stations.

Not all Tesla models are compatible with the Supercharger stations, but for those that are, a 30-minute charge provides a driving range of approximately 170 miles.

For those using charging locations, Tesla offers a smartphone app that allows the user to check the status of their car's charge, allowing drivers to shop or eat while still monitoring the charging process.
