How do you find the location of a Ford MAP sensor?
By Forinfos - 14/04/2026 - 0 comments
The location of a Ford MAP sensor is either mounted to the vehicle firewall, the inner fender or the intake manifold. The location will vary due to the make, model and year of each vehicle.
A manifold absolute pressure sensor measures the amount of pressure in the manifold, senses the engine load and sends readings to the engine computer to adjust fuel enrichment and ignition timing of the engine. Common signs that there may be a problem with a MAP sensor include surging, loss of power and spark plug fouling. Mechanical scanning tools plug into the engine's computer to check for codes to determine if there is an issue with the MAP sensor.
