What is the location of the pancreas in the human body?

The pancreas is deep in the back of the abdominal cavity. Part of it is between the spine and the stomach and part of it is in the curve of the duodenum, which is the lowest part of the stomach or the highest part of the small intestine.
The pancreas is attached to the duodenum by the pancreatic duct. It is an endocrine gland, which means that it produces hormones. Among the hormones that the pancreas produces is insulin, which is crucial in helping the body break down glucose, a simple sugar, to provide energy. The pancreas also secretes enzymes that helps the body break down carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
