The length of baboon teeth varies depending on the species and gender of the animals. Males have two upper canine teeth that are larger than the canine teeth found in female baboons.
Male chacma baboons have two canine teeth that can reach 2 inches in length, which happens to be longer than a lion's canine teeth. Four other subspecies of baboons live throughout the savannas and woodlands of Africa and Arabia. Common features among the species include a downward-sloping snout and long canine teeth. Baboons are relatively large monkeys, reaching weights between 50 and 100 pounds and a height of up to 30 inches at the shoulder.
