As of 2015, the Boardwalk at Ocean City, Maryland is 2.5 miles long. Built in 1902, the boardwalk began as a wooden walkway for hotel guests that was rolled up during high tide. It has restaurants, shops, a carousel, hotels and a pavilion for events.

The Ocean City Boardwalk, also known as Atlantic Avenue, runs right along the Atlantic Ocean. The Boardwalk's website offers visitors historical information and a walking map.
