Boston Terriers are active dogs that require daily exercise and positive interaction with their owners. Daily exercise can include short walks or play time in the yard. Some Boston Terriers wheeze or snore, due to the compact structure of the face. Possible health concerns include cataracts, patellar luxation, stenotic nares, hearing problems, hydrocephalus and esophageal achalasia. The breed becomes overheated easily in hot temperatures, so owners should limit outdoor time. The breed does well with apartment or city living.
