How long can yogurt sit out?

Yogurt can sit out for up to two hours without any source of refrigeration, according to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service. If the yogurt is left at temperatures between 40 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit for longer than two hours, bacteria begin to multiply quickly.
To protect people in the home, refrigerate yogurt and other dairy products, and do not ingest any that has been above 40 degrees Fahrenheit for more than two hours. Even though the product may smell normal, do not risk someone's health by eating yogurt that has been left out of refrigeration for lengthy periods.
