How long do caramel apples last?

A caramel apple lasts approximately 2 1/2 weeks when refrigerated, but it only lasts one week if it is unrefrigerated. Because the core is pierced with a skewer and heat is used during the application of the caramel, the apples do not store well.

Caramel apples do not remain fresh for as long as regular apples, which can last up to one month if properly stored. A caramel apple is best eaten shortly after preparation. If it is stored refrigerated, remove it 45 minutes prior to eating to let it come to room temperature. If the caramel apple is not refrigerated, keep it covered in a cool place.
