Santander Bank states that its clearance time for most deposited checks is no longer than two business days after the day of deposit. The exact length of time for funds to clear depends largely on the time of deposit and the type of check.

According to Santander Bank, the first $100 of a deposit is often available the same day the deposit is made, with $200 being available the next business day. Additional delays may occur if the total amount of deposited checks in a single day is over $5,000 or if the bank has reason to believe that the check writer may not have enough funds to cover the check amount.
