The period drama "Downton Abbey" airs on ITV in the United Kingdom and on PBS in the United States. Julian Fellowes created the award-winning series, and also writes and produces the show, which earns a rating of 8.7 out of 10 stars on IMDb. Maggie Smith has won two Primetime Emmy awards for her performance as Violet Crawley, and the show won a Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Miniseries or Movie for its first season.
