How long has Food Network been on the air?

The Food Network has been on the air since November 20, 1993. In November 2015, it celebrates its 22nd year on the air and continues entertaining people all over the world.

Some of The Food Network's first shows included "Taste," hosted by David Rosengarten, "How to Boil Water," hosted by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, and "Talking Food," hosted by Robin Leach.

During its first year on the air, the network lacked working ovens and, the stars of its cooking shows were not allowed to retake any flubbed shots. Today, the Food Network has evolved into a network that broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
