How long do iguanas live?

By Forinfos - 15/11/2025 - 0 comments

Iguanas live approximately 20 years in captivity. As adults, they can reach lengths of 5 to 7 feet. Due to their massive size, captive green iguanas require a large habitat.

Iguanas require specialized care and feeding. They also require UVB lighting and a constant source of heat. Their habitat should stay 75 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer during the night and around 90 F during the day. Iguanas are strict vegetarians, and require a wide variety of vegetables on a daily basis. They are illegal to own in locales such as New York City and Hawaii, and are considered an invasive species in Florida.
